Website Visitor Data

You can visit most portions of without telling us who you are and without revealing any personal information. The only information we collect from a website visit is the name of your internet service provider, the browser and type of machine you are using, the website that referred you to us, the pages you request and the date, time, and geographic location (town, province, and country only) from which you request them. We use this information to generate statistics and measure site activity in order to improve the quality of our site to our visitors.


Like most websites, Stand may place a “cookie,” or small file, in the browser files of a visitor’s computer. We use cookies to save information you give us so that you don’t have to re-enter it each time you visit our site. This allows us to personalize the site to your taste and provide the best web experience possible to our visitors.

Email Communication

In compliance with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), Stand will not send commercial electronic messages (CEMs) without explicit and documented consent. We do encourage you to voluntarily share your email address and other personally identifiable information with us, because we can’t build the movement we need to protect Endangered Forests without you. All such information is collected and stored in a manner appropriate to the nature of the data. Stand makes every effort to insure the secure collection and transmission of sensitive user information using industry-accepted data collection and encryption methodologies.  You can read the privacy policy of our secure data collection and management services, Engaging Networks and SalesForce.

Stand does not sell or otherwise disclose user information outside the organization for commercial purposes. If you sign up to receive CEMs from Stand, we commit to providing you with accurate and timely information about our campaign activities.

If you live in Canada, you will be asked to renew your email subscription every two years. If you fail to renew, you will be removed from our email list and cease to receive electronic communications from Stand.

You may opt out of communication from Stand at any time and we commit to honoring all unsubscribe requests within 14 days.. Additionally, you will be reminded via corresponding CEM when approaching your two-year opt-in expiration. At that time you will be given the opportunity to opt-in to CEMs from Stand for another two years.

Donor/Contributor Privacy (Donations, Purchases and Event Fees)

Stand does not sell, trade or share our donors’ personal information with anyone else, nor do we send donor mailings on behalf of other organizations.  We will only share personal information if a donor/contributor has given us specific permission to do so.

To process a charitable contribution or product purchase, it is necessary for Stand to gather the visitor’s name, email address, mailing address, phone, and credit card information. This data is used to verify identity and execute the financial transaction. Additionally, phone number and email address information may be used to contact donors if there is a problem with the transaction. If you choose to make an online monetary transaction with Stand, your credit card information will be used only for this transaction through our secure online payment system. Stand does not retain credit card information (unless the donor authorizes a monthly gift transaction, which will be the sole use of any stored credit card data) or transmit credit card information to anyone else.

Stand reserves the right to change its policy as necessary.
